Today we’d like to introduce you to KeeZY VOHH.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is KeeZY and I am from Cleveland, OH. I began making music at the age of 11 years old releasing my first song at 12. Due to limited and sometimes no resources, I had to figure out how to accomplish each step of the process on my own. Learning to produce, record, mix & master, distribute and market my own material. By the age of 16 I began to garner attention for my accomplishments. Naturally I learned to film & edit my own music videos. I signed to my first record label at 18 years old in Cleveland, OH. By 20 I had sold over 100k records.
I was advised by my mentors that the smartest decision i could make was to learn to make steady income inside my desired industry, that was I can learn and experience as I progress. In the span of 5-7 years, I opened 6 different recording studios and filmed over 300 music videos for other upcoming artist. Along with content creation, my company Pulse Media has been apart of various underground and mainstream campaigns helping other artist, models, and brands garner attention for themselves.
Naturally my team has started producing movies and TV. Along with traditional scripted stories, we produce series such as Center Stage, a live performance show that highlights upcoming local artist, and Spotlight, a similar show that revolves around upcoming models. Our overall goal is to give these talents opportunities that are hard to come by.
My story of overcoming the obstacles and sharing my knowledge and experience has been my entire brand from the start of my career. I am currently rolling out my latest studio album titled “Nobody’s Idol”. The title is meant to symbolize that I would love to assume the position of an Idol but instead the public idolizes drug dealers, killers, domestically violent couples, ect. I hope to turn the tides through introducing real talent across the industry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
1. The biggest struggle across the board has been building our capital. Every endeavor requires large amounts of funding and we’ve had to build and fund every project this far.
2. Another large hurdle was our location of operations. I am from Cleveland, OH where there are barely any opportunities or even clientele. I’ve lived in Chicago, Atlanta, South Carolina, and now Los Angeles where each market has been different.
3. Support has been a increasingly complicated area. Its hard to get support for anything positive. On top of that, support for names you have likely never heard of. I try to follow the format of 50 Cent, Jordan Peele, Tyler Perry where the foundation is built around their own talent and accomplishments making it easier to introduce other talented individuals.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a seasoned artist. I’ve been making and distributing music since 2008. Making music is my specialty, but I garnered most of my attention from mix&mastering and videography. From the beginning I’ve used a compare and contract method which has done me good and bad. The good is that from the beginning i’ve studied the greats and not the artist down the street which most people do. What to do and what not to do from the people who have done it. The bad is that it’s hard for people to see my progress because I debuted at a elevated level. Overall it’s about the journey and i’ve tried to include as many talented individuals as possible every way i can. That has benefited me greatly. I am most proud of my commitment to positive change in the industry from the ground level.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
More importantly than anything I and we need support. Support of our mission. If you enjoy positivity within the industry, then you’ll like us. We recently debuted a podcast series called “Inner Smile” which focuses on the mental health of public figures. A topic most don’t even believe exists. We approach it in funs way. We form debated between artist, producers, managers, agents, models, directors, ect. Where they discuss their experiences and disagreements within those industries.
We also are releasing Season One of our “Spotlight” reality TV show debuting models, and our first Horror movie titled “Road Kill”. I am excited for everyone to see what we have planned for next year.
