Check Out Karin Bastin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karin Bastin.

Hi Karin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I moved to LA from Sweden in 2009 – I was on maternity leave with our second child and my husband took his production company here. And we’re still here!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have mostly loved LA every day I’ve lived here – BUT at the same time I have missed ny family and friends in Sweden since the day I left. But we go back every summer for a long summer vacation. So I think we get the best of two worlds!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a background in the TV production industry. And I’ve had a podcast for more than 8 years or so. But my main focus have been my 3 kids and our family!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My kids! My husband and family! My dogs! Obsessed with dogs – and love how appreciated dogs are in LA! Love flowers, plants, interesting architecture and gardens.
I love how kind and openminded people are in LA!
I love good food and wine!
