Check Out Jordan Abad’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Abad.

Jordan Abad

Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed with your story and how you got to where you are today.
WOW. What a rollercoaster this journey has been.

I started my creative journey as a producer in Brooklyn, NY. Shadowing a photographer learning all the necessities to level up my value and take visuals in professionally. I can say that getting out of my comfort zone has always been something that contributes to my growth as an indvidual. It still trips me up looking back 5-6 years ago and where I’m at present day.

Where I’m at today? Well, one thing that stands out throughout my career is being coachable in every creative venture. In other words, having the ability to take in knowledge, apply the skill set, and execute to where you’re happy with the creation. These 3 steps have done wonders for me. And I’ve been blessed to work with some of the most knowledgeable and genuine group of mentors.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s had its ups and downs for sure, the good definitely outweigh the bad. One of my biggest struggles was starting as a freelancer, getting a creative position at a corporation, and going back to freelance. This whole process has been a bit hectic, but I think the lesson is to just trust my vision and keep pushing forward.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I really enjoy shooting people, products and anything lifestyle. Some of my favorite works were shot when I was working at Shiekh Shoes. There is such a huge variety of shoes and fashion-creating stills and videos. One thing that sets me apart from most creators is that I genuinely love making my subjects/clients feel comfortable in front of the camera. It’s hard-to-get portraits that actually portray the person if you don’t have a real connection with them,

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve never really believed in luck. Working hard, being coachable, and having a good strategy play a bigger part in life and business for me.
