Check Out Jessika Flores’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessika Flores.

Jessika Flores

Hi Jessika, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, watching my Grandmother create a style from a pile of fabric I was inspired. Being raised in Southern California, my style evolved into whimsy with a Victorian romantic twist. I set off on my path to fashion by attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and I’ve had a fantastic career in Theater, Film, and my dream…the world of Fashion.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
After FIDM, I was not sure what direction I wanted to take, so I did a little bit of everything in the fashion world. I dabble in all creative directions. There’s always some bumps on the road.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Born and raised in Los Angeles. I grew up in the valley and had the entertainment industry in my backyard. I decided to pursue my career as a fashion designer/stylist. I’ve worked in the fashion entertainment world for 30 years and counting. What sets me apart from everybody else? I want to say it’s my mix of styles from sophisticated to classic vintage to thrift shopping. Pieces that are unique and one-of-a-kind make the outfit.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My Grandma hand sewing any little I needed help with.
