Check Out Glenn Bolton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Glenn Bolton.

Hi Glenn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Since early childhood, I’ve had a love for music and humor. If I wasn’t singing along with the radio, I was imitating the people on TV. This eventually led to joining band class (trombone, bass guitar, and drums) along with theater in school. That’s where I developed my foundation as a stage performer.

To say music became my obsession would be an understatement. Genre didn’t matter. I just wanted to consume and learn as much as I could. In 2007, I joined an instrumental prog band that would result in a spontaneous move to El Paso, TX.

While there, I started doing open mic comedy contests (after some convincing from my then-roommate) to make extra cash. I ended up falling in love with it and I’m coming up on my 14th year as a comedian.

During my second year of living in LA, I started playing around with making beats GarageBand on my old iPhone. When the world came to a halt in 2020, I decided to invest in some studio equipment and began making beats under the name D.J. Snoog.

That being said, coffee was also a huge part of it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. I’d say the biggest obstacle was moving to LA and not only having to learn business but also how to rebuild my life. That being said, I’m thankful for the struggles. Without them, I’d still be living below my potential.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do music, comedy, and voice acting. I’m known for and specialize in musical comedy. I’m most proud of “The Weird Kidz”. It’s the first animated feature film I’ve done, and it just premiered at The Brooklyn Horror Festival on Oct. 14th.

The thing that sets me apart from others is not just my multiple talents, but the way I combine them.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Enjoy the ride and don’t expect quick results. If there’s anything I wish I’d known earlier, it’d be the importance of learning the business and putting myself out there more.
