Check Out Effy’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Effy.

Hi Effy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got into acting pretty young. I was the kid telling everyone, ‘You’ll remember me—I’m gonna be famous.’ It was half a joke, half a prophecy. An agent reached out via social media, I moved to L.A., and haven’t looked back.

Since then, I’ve walked L.A. Fashion Week, been in music videos, started a band. Right now I’m training for a sci-fi action film—full fight choreography, real intensity. It’s been wild.

But honestly? Anxiety’s been a shadow through it all. L.A. can make you feel microscopic—like you’re screaming into a void. That’s why I make music. It’s where I put the chaos, where I feel most like a person and not just a product. I’ve been chasing that feeling since I was a kid.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road? Smooth? Definitely not. It’s been tough—like, really tough. L.A. is a jungle, and you’re just a tiny fish in a massive pond. The competition is relentless, and the pressure is unreal. To do what you love, you end up sacrificing more than you expect. This city is full of experts in everything, so you’re constantly learning, constantly trying to level up. But, yeah, it’s easy to get lost or fall into self-doubt. It can eat you alive. The key? You can’t stop. You just have to keep pushing, even when it feels impossible. Always keep pushing.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an actor, musician, and performer—I’ve always been drawn to anything expressive and a little off-center. I’m really into anything that’s pushing me both physically and mentally. My parents always said I had this boundless amount of energy that had to be utilized.

What I’m most proud of? Honestly, staying true to myself in industries that constantly try to mold you into something else. I think what sets me apart is that I don’t try to fit into one box—I like mixing worlds, sounds, and energies. It’s not always the easiest route, but it’s the most honest one. I want people to see that, to know that I’m real, in my art.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up? I was a huge nerd. I still am. Anything and everything I could pick up and learn, I would. I’m still like that. I can get absorbed by a topic for hours at a time. My interests were always changing. Movies and music were the only things that never changed for me. I always knew I’d be doing that one day.

I was also a rebel. You couldn’t tell me anything. I was always going to form my own opinion and no one could sway that. Played any sport just to get my energy out. I still do ballet, actually! Made a lot of friends that way. I loved the camaraderie of it all.

When it came to plans? I also was always down to go with the flow and move with the tides. I got along with everyone. I was friends with everyone. My close friends described me as the “nerdy popular kid,” but I didn’t feel that way at all. I had a lot of friends, but never felt all too close to anyone. I think we all felt that way though. Outsiders looking in.
