Art & Life with Nicholas Wlodarski

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Wlodarski.

Nicholas, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I moved to Los Angles from Indiana when I was about 19 through friends I met on Twitter. I’ve always had a passion for beauty and being surrounded by pretty girls. My first memory of “makeup” is drawing lip liner on a photo of my mother when I was around 5 and her finding it and asking me about it. I denied it at the time out of embarrassment, but I think it was my little five year old brain leading me. I started off doing friends and assisting and have been so lucky to be able to work with so many amazing people and companies. From all of the amazing models to Christina Aguilera to Brandi Glanville to Denise Richards, I’m just so blessed to be able to be surrounded by such beautiful, strong women.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I don’t really have a method per-say, I approach every client differently because everyone has a different face shape, different skin tones, and a different vision. I usually start with skin and foundation and build my canvas from there. I would say every makeup job is and should be a collaborative effort. I hope that people see my passion when they see my makeup.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
I think success is any category is loving what you do, being able to be your authentic self, and being surrounded by people you love. Oh, and money is nice too.
