yahman, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I know you’ve probably heard this a million times from others but Im chasing a better life. Now im not just taking about buying a mansion with a Ferrari and a beautiful wife or what social media views are of a “better life”. I truly want to live a stress free life , in terms I had to be realistic with my future. I would love to have a family of my own one day and take care of them comfortably. If I stopped chasing my dreams , I would be living a lie , my life would be dishonorable, Knowing I didn’t try my hardest to achieve , what I believed I could accomplish, or just being flat out lazy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Yahman , Im from Jacksonville Florida, (AKA DUVALLL!!!!) I currently live in Southern California . I am a United States Marine Veteran. Im the quiet and behind the scene type of guy. Not many know about me personally. I Own a clothing brand called “DEEP POCKET MAFIA” . Deep Pocket Mafia is an organization of like-minded individuals united in their mission to build generational wealth through any legal means. We are not a gang; we are an economic community.
I make shirts for everyone spreading our message through fashion.
Im currently in the process of expanding my empire , hoping to dip my feet into the transportation industry by acquiring my own fleet of trucks . and very excited to say I will be apart of LAFW 2026 in march so Im making that collection as we speak.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I believed as a child that in order to be successful, I would have to go to college and become a lawyer or a doctor , or just be a regular citizen, as in like getting a job that you hate and work it for 30 years and retire . That’s it as I got older , I understood that if I wanted big things such as a Bentley truck , I would have to take big risks and make big sacrifices.Also just following a set of instructions , that will have a same result for everyone else is kinda boring and sad if you ask me.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell me younger self to not be a follower , Its ok not to be the cool kid on the block or in school , Be you !!! If someone does like you it’s ok. No need to be a pick me , Be a young and make your own choices without other influence.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
I would call it a Lie but some of the fashion trends going on right now are ridiculous. People tell me all the time that I should follow trends . I like to keep my brand separate from the current buzzing brands because a lot of those brands are spin offs of Hellstar and off white , it seems like everyone is trying to become something else that they’re not. For my brand I want to be known for Deep Pocket Mafia not a brand that looks like another brand if that makes sense.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Of course I can , Im doing it now , I give my all , regardless of what other have to say about it or if anything at all. If I don’t give my all and just produce sloppy work it’ll be a representation of me and my worth. AND IM FAR FROM SLOPPY AND LAZY !!!
