We recently had the chance to connect with Natasha Duval and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Natasha , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I love anything that draws me closer to my creative self. Anything that reconnects me to my inner child. Therefore, I love art journaling, painting, going to a museum, I love being out in nature and reconnecting with the earth in a beautiful way. My heart melts over beautiful scenic settings. I also thoroughly love going out dancing with friends. 🙂
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi There, I am known as Gabby by loved ones and Natasha Duval by people on the internet and beyond. I am a voice over artist, actress, writer, and now I am dipping into the fashion space as I am starting to pivot a bit of my creativity in that direction.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was in high school. I had to do several performances from a play with a classmate and my performance called for a dramatic tone coupled with tears. I remember commanding the room and leaving people speechless. It made me feel like I was born to dive into characters and loose myself. It was extremely therapeutic for me.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failure but most importantly the fear of truly being seen. I will say that the fear of truly being seen was an overarching fear that I was never able to put into words. It was mostly not allowing my full self to be expressed because of outside voices. I no longer have that fear as I am truly learning to embrace every part of myself with the allowance of inviting people into that space as well. That took a lot of time to cultivate and I am still cultivating this in my heart.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My animation series for sure because I believe in it so much. But also I am of the persuasion that God will bless me to work creatively in a major way. I truly believe he has something huge waiting on the other side of this period of my life. Sometimes it seems so far away, other times it feels within reach. I just know deep down in my heart that every dream, desire, and motivation was put inside of me for a reason and I want to see it through.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I think I would stop caring so much. Maybe I wouldn’t let the little things bother me so much and I would look for so many ways to spread love and joy everyday since we live in such a heated climate of division. I would ignore the inner critic on the inside and maybe I would be a bit more bold.
