Hi Kevin, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Since I was very young in the single digits I began experiencing moments where time just fades away as I get lost in it detail by detail. I love living moments that come and go throughout my life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Kevin Williams, my middle names are Dean Orlando where my mom named me after Dean Martin and Tony Orlando! Little did she know I’d pursue the arts as I reached high school. I’m an actor/writer/director/producer and comedian. I reside in Los Angeles, California now after being raised in NYC most of my life. Right now, I’m currently in post production of episode 2&3 of my series, “Hey, I’m The Doorguy!” My first pilot was done couple years back that has been dominating the film festival circuit to date.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I would say my first girlfriend Sarah did back in high school. It was such a dark time living with my dad and stepmother I found school and discovered drama club as an escape. Sarah went to a different school and we met randomly one late night after I ran out to get some air. We spent a lot of time together as I saw how intuitive she was when seeing I was destined for amazing things like hidden talents and such. Those times together I began exploring acting and found my way creatively. I owe that moment to her and how far I’ve come.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I felt after life kept challenging me that maybe it was preparing me on what’s to come so I began taking those hurtful times and utilizing those negative emotions using them as fuel to keep pushing through. I never felt more stronger in my life today because of that process.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
That you are your own best friend in the end. Your friends and family will eventually get there but in those life changing moments it’s just you, and you have to be able to find your way through it. Lastly, find a way to get to your dream than settling and giving it up…you’ll always regret it!
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Fulfilling my destiny career as an actor/writer/director/producer in this Hollywood industry.
