Hi Jaden, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Energy! Integrity is also really important but I think there are times when we will inevitably step out of our integrity. It is our energy that gives us the ability to start again and get back on the right track
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi I’m Jaden, or Jojo as people online know me. I’m a musical artist, live streamer, and entrepreneur. I am in the process of releasing a 4 song EP and building my music education business, Wejam, which empowers guitarists to play the music they hear inside their heads on their instruments
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I used to believe that negative emotions, fear, anger, depression etc, were a natural part of life. I now believe that while those emotions are very important warning signs from our body, that ultimately in the grand scheme of things it is unnatural to dwell in those emotions because every situation is serving us and our life is constantly getting better every time we experience something we don’t like
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
In February I almost quit being a streamer after flying myself out to New York for a livestream competition and barely making enough to pay for my flight there. I felt defeated and afterwards got extremely sick for 2 weeks, I didn’t eat for 3 days at one point. I was close to giving up but decided to give it another shot and ended up having my best month ever after picking myself back up.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
Nothing in life happens “to you”. Everything in life happens BECAUSE of you. The world you experience is a direct reflection of your inner world, so it doesn’t really make sense to get upset at outside circumstances because you literally invited them in with your energy.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they tell the story of someone that wasn’t particularly naturally gifted but tenacious to a fault. That if you embrace the posture of a lifelong learner you can do whatever you set your mind out to do
