An Inspired Chat with Dricka of LOS ANGELES

We recently had the chance to connect with Dricka and have shared our conversation below.

Dricka , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Recent moments that made me proud was seeing my youngest son off to college, watching him grow-up over the years and become a young man who now is gone away made me a proud mom. Remembering him and my other son growing up and all the silly things they used to do makes me laugh. They have so much personality and have set goals for themselves as young men, I’m excited and looking forward to this new journey with them both!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Dricka, I am from Los Angeles, CA and I am the CEO of Two Girls & a Drink. Two Girls & a Drink is a premier mobile bartending company that brings the bar experience and good vibes straight to you. We have been around for over 8 years. We service many types of events from backyard celebrations, to birthday parties, weddings, celebrity events, and corporate events, we do it all! We specialize in creating a personalized bar experience offering delicious and unique crafted drinks for both adults and kids. This is what makes us so special is that we cater to kids as well with our candy top decorated mocktails. I am also in a field where I work with kids, I love kids, plus this was my son’s idea to add the kiddie bar, so it all made sense to add it! I believe in signs, alerts from the universe that guide you and ever since I trusted the universe our kiddie bar has been very successful. The company has a staff of bartenders who are skilled and can mix professionalism with good vibes to ensure that every guest leaves with a smile and a good drink in their hand. We also offer an organic drink menu with organic liquor and fresh pressed juice. We like to be creative with flavors making your experience with us one to remember. We are currently working towards taking our handcrafted experience beyond the bar, with our exclusive line of ready-to-enjoy-bottled drinks, so that would be my next big project, my dream is to be on the shelf in Total Wine!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bonds are built on trust and respect whether it be a family member or a friend trust is the glue to a healthy foundation. Bonds normally break when trust is betrayed through lies, disloyalty, and broken promises. We expect the people we love and trust to be there for us and to celebrate us, but once this is broken people start to feel unsafe, deceived, and start to gain a lost of connection towards the other person. In my opinion bonds that have been broken are hard to restore, it’s hard to forgive someone that you trusted and loved. I believe everything happens for a reason and maybe things were meant to happen so both people can grow. Many times broken bonds can’t go back to what it was and that’s okay! True restoration means both people can grow into better versions of themselves they can both learn and become stronger, wiser, and truer to themselves first then onto others.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be “You could do it” ! It’s a lot of strength in these 4 words and I think my younger self needed to hear this more often.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I would say the public version of me is the real me ! I am a very fun, funny, charismatic person. I love entertaining people, having fun and showing people a good time by being hospitable. I love gatherings and fun times. My role as a bartender fits me, I am genuinely being who I am and my aura rubs off onto others. Being a bartender is a job that mixes art, empathy, and friendly connections, and this is exactly who I am so the universe is working for me, my energy is real !

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I believe I am doing what I was born to do, before my company was even thought about bartending never crossed my mind. Growing up I wanted to be a teacher so I got a degree in Sociology and started working at a car dealership. Years down the line I wanted to make some extra money so I went to bartending school and the universe toke the wheel and next thing you know I’m looking up ideas and bartending companies to finally come up with the idea so start my own mobile bartending service. I’m a very optimistic person and I believe that everything happens for a reason. Certain things are meant to be and I believe I am living out my purpose and this is what I was born to do !
