Alec Tomas shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Alec, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Being in a wrestling ring. There is something about the chaos, the nerves, the pressure, the noise from the crowd and everything in between that makes me feel joy. I’m a very introverted person, but wrestling makes me feel protected from my own struggles and when I’m in front of a crowd I can let go and be my true self. I believe I’m doing exactly what I was born to do.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an Armenian professional wrestler trained out of Santino Bros Wrestling Academy in Bell Gardens, CA. My name is Alec Tomas and I am introduced as “Armenian Royalty.” I proudly represent my culture and I have made it the focal point in my wrestling journey. My goal is to inspire more Armenians to get involved in the wrestling business. In May 2025, I won the Santino Bros Heavyweight Championship in a steel cage. After losing the title in September, I was able to win back my title in a deathmatch to become a 2-time champion.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My father taught me to have the work ethic that has brought me all of my success. He was the hardest working man I have ever met. The most important aspect of his work ethic that stood out to me was that he never complained about it. He embraced the amount of work it took for him to be successful and he was passionate about it. I will always be grateful for that lesson he taught me.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Everybody hits rock bottom, it’s inevitable. We all go through hard times but only in those moments will you truly learn how to break through. When you’ve suffered so much that you have no choice but to find a solution. When you feel like you have lost everything, you might just be willing to finally take the risk that you were afraid to, and it will lead you to success. For me, I relied on my faith and prayed to God to put me on that path that was meant for me. And he put it in my heart to pursue wrestling.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I believe I will wrestle for the WWE. That is my long term goal and I believe I have what it takes to not only make it there, but also have success. Sometimes it seems like an endless road, and many great wrestlers go their whole career without making it to the biggest stage. Right now, I am focused on being a great champion on the current stage in my career, but performing and representing my culture at the highest level will always be my commitment.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. As a matter of fact, that is my motto every day. You will never truly fail if you give your best effort towards everything you do. You may have losses and lessons, but those are only learning experiences that make you better. And as far as praise, I believe you are not truly passionate about something if you are only doing it for praise. If you really love something, you will give everything you have regardless if anyone sees it.
