Today we’d like to introduce you to Carissa Tompkins
Hi Carissa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was 18 when I first took the step into fitness. I wasn’t serious about it, I was trying to find footing and figure it out. I didn’t eat well and often times would simply go to the gyn to “burn off” what I was eating. When I was 22, it all clicked. I got tired of not looking like I worked out, feeling self conscious about how I looked and not having a solid routine. I started my first job as a trainer, got certified and that’s when it all took off. I started training like I trained clients and noticed a big difference. I felt more confident and like I could help anyone get out of the spirally hole I used to be in. I was limited with how many clients I could help and what I could use to help them. That is how Impression Fitness started. My mission is to make an impression on the modern fitness industry with holistic health and mindset guidance.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business is never smooth, you always have a technically difficulty or a plan that falls through. My biggest challenge has been finding clients. With any business that is usually the case. With tools and mentorship I have been able to slowly overcome that issue. It is still a work in progress however, I know how to overcome that challenge.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an independent personal trainer. I rent out a space at a gym called Self-Made Training Facility. I specialize in strength training, weight loss, injury prevention and holistic health. My biggest set of skills that are different from others is I understand health and wellness on another level. I have watched and experienced first hand what happens if you don’t care for your health. I am able to relate and understand my clients on a personal level. I can help them not only with knowledge but experience.
What does success mean to you?
Success is reaching your goals that you have set out for yourself.
