Rising Stars: Meet Silvia Peluso of Redondo Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Silvia Peluso

Hi Silvia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up in a small town at the outskirts of the Black Forest in Germany I come from a family where creativity was part of life. My parents and grandparents were masters in the art of tailoring and led a successful retail clothing store. Life was easy and uneventful. At some point over the years there was a stirring and intense longing within me to explore the world and learn more so at the age of 27 I packed my bags and traveled. Love brought me to L.A. where I enjoyed 27 years with my late husband who was a huge supporter of my work along with my two beautiful sons.
As a teenager, I was also on the lookout for unique pieces of jewelry with a mystical, other-worldly feel. Years later, a part-time stint in a metaphysical store introduced me to the power and energy of crystals. I developed an intimate attraction to these stones, finding them much too beautiful to carry around in my pockets, especially while learning about their healing properties through the study of various crystal books! I soon became a self-taught master of wire wrapping. Discovering a talent for creating the one-of-a-kind jewelry I had once imagined, my line “Healing Stone Creations,” (aka SilviasCreations on Etsy) was born!

I continuously strived to explore new techniques in my creations which led me to a community college studying and practicing the art of jewelry metalsmithing. This knowledge led to further freedom to create my vision of gemstone amulets with the focus and love of natural raw stones not manipulated and altered in their beauty as these stones are each totally and utterly unique Creations from Mother Earth.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started with this new passion in 2005, and looking back at it, it was a relatively smooth road. It feels like riding a wave, flowing and being in tune with what I am supposed to do. There are always struggles in one’s life, but as I see it those are here for us to learn and grow and an opportunity to reach our goals. These struggles basically guide the way to success if we take them on enthusiastically and with a sense of confidence and trust in ourselves and higher guidance.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The first 2.5 hours of my day is devoted to prayer, yoga, and meditation. It is my way of cleansing and preparing for the new day. I do this practice in my studio where I also create the gemstone jewelry and I trust that this light energy generated in the morning not only infuses me but also the crystals there waiting to be worked on. My goal with this practice is to become as clear of a channel as possible.
Creating an amulet is a spontaneously beautiful process where I feel the guidance of the higher self and of the crystals. To start with, I tune into my heart and intuitively select the gemstones that resonate and complement each other. Then I sense a general design. From there I trust the process and flow joyfully with what my hands are guiding me to do. And all of this is connected with my evolution of learning and tapping into the cosmic consciousness.

Each original piece is imbued with the loving energy of my Reiki-attuned hands. It is my hope that each piece will positively enhance the lives of their recipients. The energies of the gemstones help you shift your consciousness, so they help you focus on what you want to create. They are a tool you can use to shift your focus, your thoughts, your way of handling challenges, and ultimately your behavior and actions, which shapes your destiny.
Life is a balance between seeking the infinite intelligence, possibilities and resources of the universe, while at the same time surrendering the ego-driven attachments. In my opinion, the energies of gemstones help you to be more grounded, more aware, more joyous, resulting in this balance.
Each stone has specific attributes which call out to their admirers at different times in their lives. I encourage you to research the properties of the stones that attract you as a way of becoming more self-aware in your daily lives.

I am proud of, or let’s say rather happy, that I found a way of designing jewelry preserving the natural form of the stones.

There is a time, while I am working on a piece of jewelry when the soul enters, and “it” (the amulet) comes alive. I think “it” allows itself to give birth when it feels my care to the fullest and then we feed on each other in a dance of love until “it” feels complete to be embraced by a new lover.
That is a close as I can express my experience of doing what I love to do.
