Rising Stars: Meet Nachelle Davis of Encino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nachelle Davis

Hi Nachelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My joke is that I came out of the womb ready to take political action or that I was Abigail Adams in a former life, either way I have never not been driven by political action. I’ve always wanted to use my voice for good, to make a difference and that has shaped my entire path in life. My success has always come due to great defeat so overcoming is what drives me even further down the road.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The struggles of life have been my driving force. No matter what the challenge is ahead of me,I just keep pushing because I know whatever is on the other side is worth the struggle. My Grandma raised 7 kids alone so I always hold onto that, if she can so can I.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I spend most of my time informing as much as can via social media. I am proud to know I was part of history this past summer as I was invited to cover the 2024 DNC Convention as a content creator. Many applied and only 200 were accepted. I am also proud that I have 2 LA Press Clubs Awards for my work. It is not always easy covering politics but the little gems make it worth it. Nothing makes me prouder than when someone says to me that I taught them something or that they trust me to deliver the facts. Getting randomly recognized is always nice as well.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Google is always a great place to start. I am a research nerd so the more information the better. I obviously rely on TikTok, Instagram, Threads and any other social media outlet that pops up. My absolute favorite website is Govtrack.us, it breaks down every current and past member of Congress, their voting records, legislation, all of it. It’s a political nerds heaven!
