Meet Andrea Lane of Andrea Lane Music

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Lane.

Andrea, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey from rocker to musical mystic/yogi has been beautifully wild. When I first came to LA, I wanted to rock out….and I still do…. But the mystical lyrics have invaded raw emotional pain and transformed my walk into a conscious unfolding. I share my music in spiritual centers all over the U.S. and occasionally Canada. I have also shared music in correctional facilities around LA. My husband Billy Shank and I write and tour together year round.

Through prayer, meditation, yoga and spiritual practice, I allow my music and my life to hopefully be an inspiration to someone.

I have various CDs and EPs released on iTunes and my website: andrealane.org Please support transformational artists!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle was in my teen years when I attempted suicide. It was a big wake up call to myself and those around me. Once again, a journey towards prayer had begun. It was the Agape International Spiritual Center that eventually allowed me to find my way and how I was going to present my music to the world.

Another struggle came after moving from NY to LA (originally, I’m from KY). I had moved here to be with a man who promptly dumped me on my behind. He left me with rent to pay and luckily the 2 cats!!

Please tell us about Andrea Lane Music.
I’m known as the ‘Rockstar for God’ quoted by Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith (from ‘The Secret’). My vision is stated below:

“I am grateful to ignite the flames of inspirational music. My purpose is to expedite the transformation of the planet. Within this process lies utter freedom.”

“Andrea finds the crevices in us that yearn to rock out in celebration of Spirit! She will take you into your love of God like no other.” said Rev. Kristin Hawkins, Namaste Center for Spiritual Living.

“Andrea Lane is the Luna Lovegood of the New Thought music world – enchanting!” said Rev David Bruner, DD, San Jose Center for Spiritual Living.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
