Today we’d like to introduce you to Zhanara Bazar

Hi Zhanara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my musical career in opera, spending seven years studying vocal techniques, piano, music theory, and ballroom dance. After finishing school, I explored new genres, including jazz and pop, performing throughout the city and competing in vocal competitions. I also worked as a resident singer in various musical groups.

My experience extends to performing with cover bands at weddings, birthdays, and other events, as well as a 1.5-year stint in cabaret and burlesque shows.

Today, I’m a singer and songwriter focusing on pop, electronic, and jazz music. I create songs for both myself and others, blending sensual, mysterious, and emotional elements into my music.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but each challenge has been a valuable part of my journey. Transitioning from opera to jazz and pop presented its own set of difficulties. Adapting my classical training to these new genres required a lot of perseverance and flexibility. Plus my immigration to the United States. Leaving behind everything familiar and starting over in a new country was a quite an experience. alone, while trying to establish myself in a new musical landscape, was particularly tough.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Since moving to the U.S.7 years ago, I’ve poured my heart into writing my own songs and creating music videos. Collaborating with diverse artists has enriched my sound, while live performances allow me to connect deeply with my audience.
I’ve released a variety of songs and music videos and have also written songs for other artists. I recently released my EP “Oh, Scorpio…” featuring a mix of my latest original songs.
