Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Schwartz
Hi ALEXANDER, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Los Angeles from Detroit about 10 years ago and I’ve bounced around with a lot of different professions just trying to find my place in the world all while pursuing creative projects I’m passionate about. I find real joy in blending humor with art and combining that with clothes that are comfortable is where Decease and Assist was born. taking inspiration by the everchanging landscape of industrial buildings and graffiti of the Arts District. I’m very new to the business but I really am enjoying learning and sharing my ideas and working collaboratively to bring them to life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been easy I am really figuring out everything on my own no mentors just kind of bouncing ideas off friends and family and learning with the mistakes. How i would have handled projects differently etc. and independently financing from my paycheck from job trying to scale as the business grows. Taking a lot of risk in order to further push myself and the quality of my products.
We’ve been impressed with DECEASE AND ASSIST, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Decease and Assist is a lifestyle clothing brand that brings art and humor together so when you see one of our shirts it will probably make you smile. Every piece in our collection is crafted with a playful spirit and a touch of irreverence and when it is noticed instantly draws conversation.
