Daily Inspiration: Meet Zillenigalz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zillenigalz

Hi Zillenigalz, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We’re a group of four close friends who first connected in our early 20s. From the moment we met, our friendship has been filled with endless laughter and unforgettable memories. Over the years, we’ve shared experiences that range from hilarious to downright unbelievable. As time passed (and as our frontal lobes started to fully develop), we noticed that every time we got together it felt like we were living out the plot of a movie.

We began to joke about how wild our lives were, and how “Life is just a lot—period!” This catchphrase became our little inside joke, and eventually, we started to entertain the idea of starting a podcast. The idea floated around for a while, never quite turning into anything serious, until one fateful GNO. During an Uber ride to an event, we struck up a conversation with our driver. He was intrigued by our energy and connection and asked what we did for a living. On a whim, we decided to manifest our dreams and told him we had a podcast. When he pulled up Spotify and tried to find us, we knew we had to make it happen for real. That moment of spontaneous manifestation was the push we needed to finally turn our idea into reality.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While going through this process has been so much fun, there are a few obstacles we have faced along the way. Some things you would think to be simple are not so simple, for example, connecting our microphones for the first time. It ended up taking up about an hour of our filming time, something we did not plan for. None of us knew what we were doing, but when we all put our heads together (and a little help from Google) we were able to get back on track with the filming process.

While we may come across technical difficulties, we have also had challenges bringing our ideas to life. Sometimes we have an idea in our head that doesn’t always register on camera the way we would have liked or expected. In situations like these, we don’t let it get us down. We are finding that it is a part of the process, and we are happy to only get better after a little trial and error. We are lucky to be in a group where we can bounce ideas off each other, problem-solve, and end up with beautiful outcomes. In the end, as we like to say when all our minds come together, it’s one “Big Brain.”

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a group of friends who have a podcast and create content highlighting our lives as Zillennials. We share our thoughts on topics like friendships, relationships, and surviving early adulthood from the perspective of twenty-somethings born between 1993-1998. We are most proud of the growth we have made on our social media platforms. We manage three social media accounts – Instagram, TikTok, YouTube – and have gained followers who support the community we are trying to build.

Our platform sets us apart from other content creators because we share a unique perspective that is specific to young people who grew up during a time when technology advanced rapidly. We have memories of house phones & cell phones, playing outside & playing Wii tennis, and connecting with friends on MySpace & Instagram. We are able to share thoughts on life experiences that are relatable to both Millennials and Gen-Z because we truly live life somewhere in between both generations – we’re just stuck in the middle!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The best thing about living in Los Angeles is that you can find a lot of unique hangout spots! It’s nice living in a city with so much entertainment. As a group of best friends we love exploring new restaurants, clubs, and even trying new activities together. We also love how culturally diverse LA is. You can get a taste of every culture and the options of food choices are endless. Being able to bond with others and make new friends from different cultures is important to us.

One of the challenges with living in LA is navigating the traffic. With all four of us living quite a distance from one another, planning hangouts during peak hours of the day seems almost impossible. Leaving extra early is a must here, and sometimes that means cutting down on our glam time (Boo!!). Along with traffic, LA can be a very expensive place to live and have fun. One thing we try to target for our audience is vlogging and showcasing our experiences of new affordable places we come across. Some hidden gems we have discovered are Tea at Shiloh, Moonlight Rollerway, and The Venue Karaoke Bar.
