Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiley Tkaczyk
Hi Kiley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey has been an adventure, filled with unexpected turns and valuable lessons facilitated by divine design. It began during a quarter life crisis while living in Chicago. I found myself at a crossroads, feeling unfulfilled and desperate for change. I applied for 700 jobs all around the world, casting a wide net to find something that resonated with me. I knew I wanted to do work that offered emotional support and made a genuine impact, but I didn’t know in what capacity. What prevailed was a series of opportunities that ultimately guided me to my calling.
I was offered a position at a highly regarded, innovative medtech organization, which prompted a move to Atlanta and subsequently Los Angeles. I worked as a Clinical Sales Representative, responsible for developing robotic surgery programs in hospitals and training surgeons and medical teams on robotics. I gained substantial personal and professional growth in this role and I am forever grateful for it.
After a successful tenure, I was up for a change again and I was drawn to the dynamic world of startups. I was seeking an opportunity to be part of building something from the ground up and have more of an immediate impact on how the organization was run. Simultaneously, my inner voice kept urging me to pursue work that aligned with my passion for providing emotional support to others. This led me to enroll in a coaching program, a step that felt both natural and beneficial for my work in sales. While I wasn’t yet certain how I would apply it, I knew it would prove valuable in the future.
Shortly thereafter, I joined an early stage, now unicorn, startup focused on reproductive health and women’s wellness, which deepened my fascination with birth and the innate wisdom of our bodies. Nights and weekends were dedicated to studying birth, watching videos and immersing myself in this incredible process. I couldn’t get enough. I finally felt the deep calling in my bones that I had been searching for – to marry my passion for birth and emotional support with my business acumen and become a birth doula. During this time, I weaved in my coaching skillset and worked on the side with women throughout preconception and pregnancy, focusing mainly on mindset work. However, I continued to pursue other business ventures, feeling that the timing wasn’t quite right to make the leap full time.
Around this time, I experienced a profound paradigm shift, recognizing that there’s infinitely more to well being than just the physiological aspects. This prompted exploration at a deeper level and after a decade in the healthcare space, I transitioned from the industry to take on a role as a founding member of a tech logistics startup. This venture offered a comprehensive view of what it takes to build a company from the start—something I had not fully encountered before. I was involved in every aspect, from fundraising and company culture to branding, website development, and contract negotiation. This experience, combined with my previous roles and my willingness to take significant risks, elevated my understanding of the resilience, determination, and commitment required to succeed in business, all while remaining even keeled.
As my time at this start up concluded, the stars aligned, presenting the perfect moment to pursue what I had long envisioned and I became a birth doula. Trusting in the process and doubling down on myself, I recognized that everything I had experienced was required to lead me into alignment with my purpose, enabling me walk this path with intention and fulfillment. Ever since, it has felt like a remembrance, as if I had done it for many lifetimes. I also founded N.L. Sol, a curation of handmade and secondhand items, stemming from my love of vintage shopping and creating candles, soap, serums, etc.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve faced moments of self limitation, I’ve operated out of scarcity, and initially struggled with trusting both myself and the process. Transitioning from a stable, secure environment to one filled with uncertainty was a huge change. However, these experiences have led me to find fulfillment beyond conventional measures of success, which has proven to be significantly more meaningful and freeing than I could have ever imagined.
Being a solo venture compared to being part of a team means assuming responsibility for everything—contracts, finances, branding, business development, all while managing births, one on ones, and prenatal and postpartum sessions. I’ve dedicated countless hours to my creating my website, copywriting, content creation, and community outreach by myself. Despite my industry experience, I had to start from scratch in this role, finding innovative ways to network and showcase my services. Establishing trust in a competitive field, wearing multiple hats, and managing finances amid an unstable income, at times, was a balancing act. This role requires a heightened level of awareness and energy, so I am deeply attuned both with the families I work with and with myself. It’s been enlightening because I’m constantly aware of my state of being, ready to respond to the unpredictable nature of birth and mindful of the energy I bring into each space.
It’s ultimately about mindset. Choosing to trust, surrender, and accept keeps me in a flow state and cultivates a deeply rooted belief that I can succeed in whatever I pursue. The option to find fulfillment, success, and happiness in my career is always available.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a certified birth and postpartum doula and my mission is to facilitate a conscious connection to birthing journeys. Birth has the capacity to be and was designed to be the most life changing, transformative, unpredictable, beautifully primal initiation in a woman’s life. It is the fullest expression of the feminine through surrender. But overtime, birth has beeb overpathologized so much that people have lost touch with their instinct and intuition thus leading to a lack in confidence, knowledge and trust.
We get back to that by having intention behind every action. I work with my clients a lot on their mindset; shifting their deeply rooted beliefs, fears, and stories into empowering unshakable confidence in their capacity to having a positive birthing experience, while remaining in a regulated state, avoiding rigidity and control. They understand the process, they get to know their desires and how to express then. This also provides the framework and mindset for postpartum and parenthood as well.
I am deeply passionate about the work I do because of the profound human connection it brings. Developing close bonds with families and being invited into this sacred, intimate container for the birth of new life and witnessing the rebirth of parents is deeply transcendental.
Beyond traditional support, I provide virtual doula services for those seeking guidance without physical presence, as well as one on one sessions focusing on preconception, mindset cultivation throughout pregnancy and labor, birth preparation, and interactive Q&A with doula and midwife perspectives.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
It’s challenging to pinpoint a single favorite childhood memory because so many memories collectively define that time for me. What resonates most is not a specific event but the essence of childhood itself – imagination, freedom, curiosity, and authenticity.
The simplicity of hunting for a four leaf clover, the spontaneity of inventing a game with just a ball and chalk, the free spirited nature of of playing in the forest until sunset, and the resilience of climbing trees, enduring scrapes and bruises, with no fear to do it all over again the next day. Existing in such a present state with those I love, living life in its fullest expression every single day day. These attributes are what inspire me and what I strive to embody as an adult.
