Daily Inspiration: Meet Lynn Adrianna Freedman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Adrianna Freedman.

Lynn Adrianna Freedman

Hi Lynn Adrianna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Sure! I started on stage when I was six. I’m not really sure how or why, but I played Cinderella in a neighborhood production of “Cinderella”, and was hooked after that. Lucky for me, I grew up in the Bronx, NY to two parents who were artists, so I was surrounded by culture. My mother wanted to be an abstract painter, but she didn’t have the wherewithal to weather the industry so she had to do secretarial work to make ends meet (which she loathed). She was immensely supportive of my creative endeavors and would take me to auditions and rehearsals and find ways to get me lessons that we couldn’t afford. My father was a jazz pianist and that was how he earned his living, so although he wasn’t as present as I would have liked growing up, he did model what it looked like to be a working artist. I saw the ebb and flow and the success and the disappointments. Later in life, once I was a working actress, he became a wonderful mentor and remained that way until he passed in 2016.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is no such thing as a smooth road for an artist!! There may be smooth times, smooth seasons, but by virtue of your life choice, there will always be bumps, obstacles, challenges and struggles. We’re built for it, and those of us that aren’t, don’t stick around. They may be the lucky ones!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an entertainer. I’m an actress, a singer and a dancer. I’m a choreographer. I’m a writer. I’ve also done some directing and producing, and I teach acting and dance. I have a lot of jobs! Amongst my peers, I would say I’m known for my versatility; I’m definitely a character actress and I love to play very diverse roles. I think I’m also known for my honesty within the work. The theater was my first love and my heart remains there, but I love doing film and TV. What sets me apart? My nose. LOL. I’m kidding, but also not kidding. I’m of the age where a lot of women in my category are getting all types of surgery to look younger, and I’m just not about that life. No shade, it’s just not my thing, Not yet, at least!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Perseverance and a growth mindset. Also, humility.
