Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Shea
Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my career in the entertainment industry when I was just 2 years old, appearing in commercials and stock images for magazines. Since then, I have worked in various roles in the entertainment industry, from being an extra, production and creative directing behind the scenes, to landing main roles, participating in reality shows, and being featured in international prints and publications. I have also competed in pageants, held titles, ventured into social media, and now I am hosting podcasts and red carpet television media appearances. I currently offer entertainment business consulting and advising all while working part time at my local Equinox on downtime. Incorporating health and fitness into my lifestyle.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have faced numerous challenges in my career, including years of submitting to and being rejected by various opportunities in the industry. The process of constantly applying and only landing a small percentage of the jobs I have pursued can be disheartening. In this appearance-driven industry, staying positive is crucial, especially when rejection occurs after coming close to securing a job, only to be passed over for a stronger candidate.
Allowing yourself to know that you won’t get every job you submit for and some will be more enjoyable works than others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My main focus is in the entertainment industry, where I take on modeling gigs and acting roles. I am best recognized for my acting appearances and partnerships with notable figures such as Ellen DeGeneres, YouTubers like Eric Decker and Sergio (UDY), as well as shows like America’s Next Top Model. Additionally, I have worked on projects like The Hooters International Calendar, Miss Florida USA, and Fashion Week.
I am Most proud of doing all of this with no agencies or management team. All my accomplishments have been independently doing the back work , submitting and showing up as my best self. It hasn’t been easy . In fact many times I have struggled with being in the right head space in order to interview and to show my best self. What stands me apart from others is my drive to strive. My endless will to follow my dreams, pursue the works, travel, show up and be involved . I have helped motivate and influence others to do the same, in any field.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I have spent years perfecting my craft that I’m now able to advise others in the industry looking for direction and motivation. I share these tips and advices on my Personal Podcast called “A&E” Anything and Everything. Focused primarily in the entertainment fields and finding success in the industry .
