Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrys Phillips

Hi Chrys , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began writing stage plays for theatre musicals and a youth theatre group I founded. From here my passion for telling stories took me into tv and film. My tv series was on national television and leading titan platforms such an Amazon and Apple, to name a few. My debut movie has received numerous awards for best picture for television and also I was nominated for a Directors Guild Nomination for best direction of television movie. It’s this passion to tell stories that has guided me through a diligent work ethic, constant striving and succeeding to desired success.

I am now in pre-production for an ‘origin’ story of the most favorite character in my best selling book series Magic Wars Saga, on Zavier. The movie is an origin story before the Magic Wars and it’s a nail-biting, adventure with Zavier and new characters the fans haven’t met before. It’s called, Zavier and the NightKeeper.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The bottom line is any success is never a smooth road unless you’re one of a few who know the correct people or born into it. The biggest hurdle has always been the lack of support there is for women to not only create but produce their own films/tv shows. Many still look down on you as an only a women with big dreams and with no real gusto or experience to get it done. Even when I have more experience and awards than them. Therefore, having faith and knowledge in your own skills and those you team around you is paramount to succeed and never allow anyone to define you.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Interesting question, I’m most known for my book series Magic Wars Saga, form the comic cons/conventions, social media chats, bookstore guest appearances and naturally, via my books characters. My specialty is telling stories. From the theatre stage, to tv tandem film and to books, I have and I am achieving more of my success in each of these fields and what sets me apart is that, a true storyteller isn’t jaded by the money that they shall earn or the amount of likes and followers, but the true desire and motivation to inspire through their creativity of stories, and that is what I emanate. I am one of a few women who have written, directed and produced in theatre, tv, film and books. That is why I also like to tutor theatre classes to get young minds involved in creating their own productions. These classes begin each semester and coming up is the Fall intake for any budding actors, directors, writers and more.
