Conversations with Ines Silva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ines Silva.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started? 
I was born with the soul of an artist, and everything in my life has always been surrounded by art. 14 years ago, I created a brand, ISART DESIGN, with the aim of being able to share all my creativity. After 2 years of existence, the first collection of handmade clothing was born, an old dream that I always wanted to give shape to. Self-taught without any course or resources, I had to explore, learn, and guide how I could do this. So, my partner, Rodrigo, and I decided that we would start creating and sewing everything by hand without machines, valuing traditional techniques and ancestral work. Thus, our clothes consist of a fusion of our bohemian and exotic style with special materials: fabrics, leather, semi-precious stones, and metals, ensuring that each person creates their own trend and adapts our style to theirs. We create wearable art for real goddesses and each piece has a soul, and is as unique as the wearer. We started selling our art on the street, at events and festivals, and traveling a lot, a very hard job for those who create everything manually, and today, our orders travel to all continents. This makes us very proud of doing so much with the little we had. And when we believe in the beauty of our dreams, giving up is not a word in our dictionary. Behind the beauty of all this, we want to show that without dedication, focus, and love, success is not possible. 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We almost don’t know what tranquility means in our nomadic life. It’s been a pretty crazy journey over these years, full of adventures, ups and downs and many challenges, which we always rolled up our sleeves and went to fight for. Lots of traveling, exhaustion from working so much, some days without seeing the light of day, getting blisters on my hands from sewing so much, and putting our personal life aside were some of the things we learned to deal with. Now dedicated only to the online world, our biggest obstacle that we deal with every day is: time. Creating everything manually requires a lot of us and a lot of time and dedication, just like creating content and all brand functions being done by just 2 people. Today, we can manage everything with our lives, and we know what it’s like to have to stop. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We believe that our work has a soul; it is very special to us. We create each fusion piece with so much love as if it were for ourselves, and each person who receives a piece of clothing from us feels this completely, in the quality and in every detail. We work with made-to-order and tailored orders, and our goal from the beginning was to specialize in fully adjustable clothing because we are all unique and special, and that is what sets us apart. It’s an honor to be able to make something original and personalized for a client, and we always want to maintain that part of our brand despite it being more challenging than working with stock. Being able to create my own ideas and do what I love is what makes me most proud today. When I see someone with my art, my eyes light up and my heart beats faster, having such a strong connection with this makes me believe that it is completely my mission. Now, we are creating the Divine Sun collection, a reflection of the current vibration of our lives. 

What matters most to you? Why?
Today, I discovered that the most important thing of all is: peace. And that, for artists, makes ideas blossom in an even more magical way. Living a life on this side has brought to our heritage more and more new original and different designs, that sometimes I don’t even know how I even come up with such ideas. Being focused on inner evolution is completely reflected in our art. And here inspiration never ends, even in dreams, we are like poets: they don’t suffer, they create.
