Meet Katt Stinger of Stinger Event Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katt Stinger

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I fell in love with wedding planning while planning my own wedding in 2016 and 2017. Then shortly after planning my own wedding and truly enjoying it, I was fortunate enough to help my best friend plan her wedding in 2018. During that process, I had taken my negative experience with a wedding coordinator and turned it around with a goal to be an affordable, kind, and supportive wedding planner for my couples/ clients. I was told a lot after those weddings that I should take the leap to become a wedding planner, after having such success. I was then referred to a friend’s coworker who booked me as a coordinator for her big day, and I used that deposit to get my business off the ground in late 2018. I thought to myself, why not? If I never book another wedding again, at least I didn’t lose any money doing it and I had fun. Little did I know that it would turn into what it is today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been very grateful for my experiences as a wedding coordinator and planner. I have learned something from every single wedding that I’ve worked and it has only helped me to grow as a person and in my career. It definitely took me longer to get the business side set-up. I didn’t like to charge people more for things that were outside of their packages. I liked to just do it all myself and do anything to help a couple, and this is mostly still true. I would do almost anything to help my bride’s have the perfect day, but I also have to make sure I’m being compensated fairly if I’m doing the job of other vendors, etc.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a wedding planner, designer, and coordinator.
I typically work with brides that have a budget and are located in SoCal or Boise, Idaho. I occasionally get to travel for work and I love that too!
I work closely with my clients/couples to help them create their dream wedding day. Most people have never planned a wedding before their own, so I help them make sure that they have everything covered and that they are hiring reputable vendors that will provide the experience that they want.
My husband and I find so much joy in watching our couples be in love and be supported by their friends and family on their wedding days.
Our whole goal is to make sure that the couple, their friends and family are all guests of honor and not hosts. We work so that they don’t have to and so that they can focus on celebrating their love together while we make the magic happen behind the scenes.

What matters most to you? Why?
