Meet Stephen Vokshori of Vokshori Law Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Vokshori.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a child, I immigrated to Los Angeles with my family. Living in a predominately white area I saw at a young age the negative effects of racism. This racism forced me to win people over not with the color of skin but with hard work and a smile on my face. This period of my life instilled in me an ‘under dog’ attitude. I will always respect and look out for those that are less fortunate.

My first stab at a professional career began when I was a teenager working for a financial company. The company was supposed to be helping its clients pick stocks that matched their financial goals. I quickly learned however that the only interest the firm had was selling stocks that helped fill its own pockets. This affected me deeply and I quickly left the industry for good.

Motivated by my previous experience I took a job with a mortgage company shortly after law school. I was told I would be helping homeowners but this time I was quick to discover that the firm once again didn’t have the homeowner’s best interest in mind. This was the final straw that pushed me to where I am today.

I knew the only way to truly help those in need I had to start my own firm. As of this writing my law group has successfully helped hundreds of clients flip their financial situation and get their lives back.

Has it been a smooth road?
My journey to where I am today has been defined by my reactions to adversary. I grew up in a predominantly white area and have experienced varying degrees of racism. Rather than igniting bitterness, these experiences instead fostered my humility and fueled the empathy I have for those who are also dealing with adversity, perhaps even a certain level of persecution.

I struggled working in the finance industry because I became painfully aware that there the consumers are grossly underrepresented and the cards unfairly stacked. Time and time again I saw consumers and mortgage holders being poorly treated, taken advantage of, or stripped of everything they had in a one-sided battle against a bank or mortgage company with far more resources and ample legal support. Due to the predatory nature of this industry, I abandoned my hopes about working in big finance and looked for a new path in VLG.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Vokshori Law Group – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Vokshori Law Group represents consumers with all aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency issues in business transactions, debt restructuring, loan modifications, and related civil litigation proceedings. Vokshori Law Group was founded out of a frustration with the way families were being treated by lenders. Since 2008, VLG has successfully modified over 500 mortgages, and along the way, shared the trials and tribulations of our clients. Our intent is always to act as more than just legal advisers—rather, we’d prefer to be true advocates who can offer both practical as well as moral support. At Vokshori Law Group, I am proud to defend struggling families from unyielding lenders and help them finally achieve financial freedom.

Future Plans: What are your plans for the future? What are you looking forward to or planning for – any big changes?
We want to expand our service offerings. After a person comes out of a financial rut the next logical step for a client to take is to get their will, trust, health directive and overall succession plan in place.

We hope to expand our reach and exposure through the increased marketing efforts and we plan to leverage that position by offering immigration and criminal representation. Instead of referring this business elsewhere as we’ve done in the past. We’ll partner with experienced attorneys in these respective areas and bring them in as of counsel where we’ll split legal fees with them and reduce our risk and overhead. This would continue to reinforce our vision in that we’re helping an underrepresented group of individuals and families who are dealing with high stress, ostensibly life or death situations.
