Check Out Trinity Kenney’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinity Kenney.

Trinity Kenney

Hi Trinity, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in a small town in Virginia with a tight-knit family that loves to have a good time! Always being encouraged to enjoy life and try new things; if it was new food or traveling to new places for AAU basketball. I left VA at 18 and went to school in Washington, D.C. at Howard University. That’s when my mind really understood how big the world really is and how much I haven’t seen of it! I also, found my love for makeup and beauty during this time.

After graduating, I moved to Los Angeles in 2014. I had the typical dreams of stardom and fame like everyone else. Worked as a waitress for a few years and began to meet people in the film and fitness industries. My co-workers became my first clients and introduced me to more people in the industry.

I left the restaurant and began working at MAC Cosmetics and building my makeup clientele. After about two years there, I quit and started freelancing on my own. This was not an easy transition, but so worth it! I wouldn’t have my own flourishing business today if I didn’t take a leap of faith on myself.

I started doing virtual makeup classes during Covid and then working on sets in Hollywood. To now being a full-time Makeup Artist and Beauty Educator. I’ve worked with brands like Nike, Beats, PopSugar, BET & more. These great opportunities also lead me to work with some great talent such as Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, CoCo Jones, and more.

So excited to see what the future holds for me and my team because we are just getting started!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My road has not been easy, but definitely worth it. Moving to LA by myself was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Being able to balance supporting myself in this expensive city while trying to chase my dreams at the same time was tough. At the end of the day I refused to give up and go back to VA. Having great friends and family that held me accountable for my dreams & goals was necessary. I wouldn’t be here without them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My name is Trinity and I am an LA Makeup Artist that specializes in ‘Soft Glam’ makeup. I set myself apart because I really love what I do. It is not a chore I’m not in this just for the money at all and it shows through my interactions with my clients and anybody who’s around me.

I enjoy doing makeup on all skin colors, tones, and ages. My tagline is “Beauty Made Naturally Bold”. I specialize in enhancing my client’s features not changing them with makeup. I am most proud of the relationships I have built and with my clients famous & not famous, I treat everyone with the same luxury experience.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Most people don’t know this about me, but I played basketball for most of my childhood. I played for my schools but also travel basketball all year round! At the same time, I loved school. I was really good at it! AP & IB Classes allowed me to gain college credits in high school. I was also Homecoming & Prom Princess.

Spending time with family on weekends or doing outdoor activities (Mud Bogging, going to the lake/ pool, & bonfires) with friends during the summer. That was the best part of growing up in a small town in Virginia!
