Meet Luille Huang – Digital Interface/Experience Designer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucille Huang.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, My name is Lucille (Yutien Huang), and I work as a digital interface designer. My digital interface design work includes anything from mobile and internet user experience to interaction design, digital design, visual and mixed reality experiences, and music. I have a background in marketing and business and am currently working as a digital interface and experience designer. Currently, I work as a designer, coach, and design judge. My passion for design led me here, and my goal is to create products and experiences that empower and inspire others.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a digital designer, I can tell you that the road to becoming a great designer is not easy. It entails countless challenges and hardships that mold me into the experts i aim to be. While it may appear glamorous from the outside, I face various challenges along the way.

One of the most difficult challenges is the ongoing requirement to learn and keep up with the ever-changing digital scene. Design trends, software tools (design and coding), and technology are constantly changing, and as a designer, I must devote significant effort to absorbing information, reading, and researching new concepts and methodologies. Keeping up with the latest trends in design, user experience concepts, and developing technologies can be intimidating, but it is critical to stay relevant in the field.

Second, feedback and criticism are critical to growing as a designer. While receiving helpful feedback is necessary for progress, accepting and incorporating it into my work can be difficult at times. It takes humility, resilience, and an open mind to accept feedback and apply it to improve my talents and designs.

Furthermore, the creative process can be difficult. Designing necessitates continuous brainstorming, iteration, and problem-solving, which can be intellectually exhausting. It might be tough to be under pressure to create unique and impactful designs while meeting tight deadlines. We may encounter creative blocks or self-doubt at times, which can be depressing. Overcoming these obstacles necessitates endurance, patience, and a determination to break through the walls.

Furthermore, the design field’s competitive character has its own set of obstacles. It can be challenging to stand out and distinguish a designer in a crowded market. Building a strong portfolio, networking, and finding opportunities to showcase my skills and work can be an ongoing battle. It takes time and persistence to build a reputation and gain recognition as a digital designer.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ll explain how and why I created Piet, my current design project, which got a Gold Award from the Vega Digital Awards. The Piet project combines art and dogs with artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this strange undertaking, advanced algorithms extract dog images and add artistic styles. Piet’s AI system analyzes and learns from many art styles to transform dog photographs into spectacular, original creations. Using artificial intelligence, this study investigates the relationship between humans, dogs, and art. As a dog lover and art fan, I began my study.

I started this project because dog owners take more photos and like art. According to various studies, dog owners snap photos to remember crucial events with their pets. Owners enjoy photographing their pets. Because of their emotional connection with their pets, dog owners frequently admire aesthetics and art. Dog owners are more likely to go to art shows, participate in various forms of art, and produce their own dog-inspired art. With dogs, art and creativity appear to improve.

I specialize in projects from 0 to 1. I enjoy concepting, brainstorming, and forecasting. With a potent combination of my business and design experiences, I am able to efficiently integrate project needs with business objectives. With my unique set of skills, I can bridge the gap between design and business goals, resulting in solutions that are both attractive and intelligent.

My successes as a mobile and web digital interface designer have been numerous. First and foremost, becoming a Design Judge (NDA) makes me proud. It acknowledges my design abilities and effort. When my initiatives win international design awards, I consider myself successful. I’m pleased to speak at public events, especially for women in technology as a designer for organizations United Nations/ICT, because I can inspire and empower others. These achievements in my digital interface design career demonstrate my dedication to producing meaningful and one-of-a-kind design experiences.

I also appreciate working in groups. I believe that collaboration and diversity produce the best designs. I enjoy collaborating with developers, marketers, and stakeholders to ensure that the design solution meets both user needs and the company’s business goals.

How do you define success?
According to a variety of useful metrics, I define success as the creation of designs that expertly address issues, improve the user experience, and produce notable results for people and the target audience.
