Meet Stephanie Crochet of Steph Crochet Yoga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Crochet.

Stephanie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2012, I walked into YogaWorks’ 200-hour teacher training with trainers Kia Miller and Jesse Schein. I had no idea that taking that training would change my life for the better. After graduating, I knew that I had to quit my corporate job as a successful recruiter to teach yoga full time! Everyone thought I was crazy – why would anyone leave a lucrative job to teach yoga and make $35/class?! But my desire to teach was not influenced by money or becoming rich – it was truly inspired by the love that I have for teaching and the amount of joy it brings me. 5 years later and I have over 1000 hours of teacher training experience, have led successful retreats in Tuscany, Bora Bora, Ojai, Palm Springs and Laguna Beach, teach at YogaWorks and Equinox, and work privately with clients in Bel Air and Beverly Hills. For two years I said yes to every opportunity that came my way and that attitude led me to this well aligned and abundant flow that is sustaining me spiritually and financially, and for that, I’m so grateful.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, it’s been a smooth road. I believe when you’re truly aligned with your heart’s desires, things tend to flow naturally. I’m not forcing things to happen or resisting change. There’s a point where we have to let go of effort and also allow the Universe to do its magic – that’s the formula I live by – do everything you can, then let the Universe do its part as well.

Please tell us about Steph Crochet Yoga.
Steph Crochet Yoga thrives off the attitude of joie de vivre (joy of living). I teach my classes and clients with this attitude and infuse my sequences with that love of living and attitude of gratitude. My specialty is making people feel good about themselves – I wouldn’t say it’s a skill that I gained or trained in but more so part of my disposition. I have a natural way in guiding people to see their strengths, face their weaknesses and manifest their intentions/goals. Having worked as a recruiter for 8 years helped me hone in on those skills as well. I’m so proud of myself for taking risks which has set me apart from some of my peers. Traveling and adventure is a big part of my life and I get to do what I love in magical places like Tuscany, Bora Bora, Ojai, Palm Springs, and Laguna Beach.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Spending Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with my family – I have a large family and being with them for the holidays warmed and filled my heart. We still spend the holidays together and we still laugh until our stomachs hurt, play games, eat amazing food, dance, tell each other what we love about one another. It’s really special!

I have taken classes with Steph Crochet arb Equinox and Yoga Works, gone on a retreat with her and my family and taken private lessons at our home.

Steph rocks. She is the bomb.com. Spending time with Steph is like a day at the beach or wine country.
