Meet Shalena Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shalena Smith.

Hi Shalena , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started working with interior design through a retail store called Bellini when I was 19 years old. I quickly realized how much I loved working with people and creating the nursery or kid’s room of their dreams. When I was 23 years old, I opened a Bellini Franchise of my own in Palo Alto, CA. A Southern California, Valley girl at heart, I returned back to my roots in the San Fernando Valley and after we had our first daughter, I started my own company Gaga Designs. Gaga Designs was the pioneer interior design company that specialized in designing only nursery to teen rooms. We quickly became known amongst celebrities looking for a specialized service of baby concierge and interior design. (Sean Combs, Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tamera Mowry and more…)

Eight years ago, Gaga Designs grew up into Shalena Smith Interiors which is a design firm for full residential and commercial projects. Our most exciting and current news is that we opened a showroom in the beautiful and growing community of Porter Ranch, CA. Three months ago we opened Shalena Smith Interiors & Home Decor are located inside the Vineyards shopping center. We are now a retail furniture and accessory store, as well as a showroom for our interior design firm. It’s amazing to once again have a storefront that shows the love for my baby and kid’s spaces, but also shows off our kitchen and whole house design aesthetic.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was hard for me to walk away from the Bellini franchise but I see now that the experience prepared me for what I’m doing today.

With over 20 years of experience curating beautiful spaces, we offer full residential and commercial interior designer services by appointment only. Visit our showroom for gifts, home decor or special orders that perfect furniture ensemble, bedding, lighting or upholstery your space has been missing. We can’t wait to dream and create with you!

We exist out of my passion to create a safe haven for families. There’s so much going on in the world and I want our design clients and customers that shop in our store to have a space in their homes that brings them comfort. It should be a retreat and a place to restore. If it’s the entire home or just a small nook in your home that helps you to relax, your home should definitely be a place of peace.
