Meet Sharard Baker

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sharard Baker. Sharard was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Devlon Short.

Hi Sharard , we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
My story started in Flint, Michigan when I was a child writing poetry and trying to be the next movie star! I knew coming out of the womb being an entertainer was the only life for me. My father was very supportive and pushed me to pursue those dreams. I was always in school and church plays and I used that to improve my acting skills while. I was starting to make a name for myself when I started performing for McCree Theater and even did one performance for the University of Michigan-Flint. When I came to music my brother and Partner in Rhyme to this day, G Flatt is a very talent producer convinced me to start taking some of my rhythmic poems and “rap” then to his beats that he made. That turned in to freestyling around the neighborhood. My peers convinced me I had a talent so I keep doing it. All of this went on through out my time in school and Mott Community College. At 22 I was blessed with an opportunity to audition for the American Musical Dramatic Academy and got accepted and moved to Los Angeles. I graduated from AMDA and kept pursuing my dreams and that’s how I got to where I am today!

Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
First off, I’m not just a rapper or actor. I’m feel I’m the complete package. I write scripts, I’m a video editor and I’m ready to get into some directing as well. If I had to described my style it would be “Storyteller with the ability to captivate audiences with true lyricism while bringing fun and excitement to the hip hop game. It’s everything to me to create characters to bring them to my audience so everyone can relate. I’ve been working consistently on my career for the past 8 years and great thing is, I’m just getting started! Now that I’m surrounding myself around like minded individuals I see my brand growing every year and it’s so exciting and scary at the time. I’m human, sometimes I have doubt, or I can get in my own head but that’s the beauty of what I do, the journey isn’t complete. Almost all of my music is on all streaming platforms I do have a mixtape “F. Snyder” that’s currently on DatPiff. I would truly love it if everyone could go show love everywhere but REALLY go to my YouTube channel and turn them numbers up on the BakerNation channel. That’s where you get to see the magic.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Devlon Short and Onslaught Studios LLC and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Onslaught Studios LLC.
What I enjoy about working with Onslaught the most is how they can help me realize what I’m doing is a business and I have to treat it a such. We don’t just shoot videos just to shoot. We plan out marketing, we talk about how we can leverage each project to get to another level. I think it’s rare if our conversations are less that 3 hours, lol! That seem a lot but it’s necessary. Over the years we became more that just director/client, we’ve built a true friendship that I take their advice on everything from industry things to advice that’ll help me in life. Most companies just want to make their money and go, Onslaught want to help artists reach their full potential. Personally, they have help me realize more about myself. Even though I’ve been working on my career for 8 years I truly started to see the growth when we first shot “Fearless” my first video with them. People were taking me serious, reaching out for features, some thought I was already a signed artist. They provided me a lot and I’m genuinely reaping the fruits of our labor and watching my dreams come true. I always knew it was possible but since we started working together, I’m seeing it manifest.
