Check Out Giancarlo Rondani’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giancarlo Rondani.

Giancarlo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Lima – Peru, and grew up in Brazil with a Chinese/Peruvian mom and an Italian dad; a great mix of cultures and made me realize from a young age that Art was always around me through food and my mom’s artistic talents. My Italian grandfather also was an artist, with the way he cooked and he used to build small wooden boats. Today as an artist, a chef, and a musician, I can appreciate everything I was always learning unconsciously. While studying marketing and publicity back in Brazil, I started a business with some friends, and we created a studio called “Agente Design” in São Paulo – Brazil.

At Agente, we targeted many print materials and animations online through animated websites, online campaigns, and video presentations. After working with a few clients from the USA, I decided to extend another wing of our studio in California so I could continue running our business from here. After a short time, I started to network and lead my way from the animation on the web to television motion graphics.

Naturally, moving to Los Angeles in 2008 was the best choice to expose me to a wider variety of studios. I worked on projects with multiple unique studios here in LA, and now 15 years later, I expanded my clientele. I directly provide services to a lot of big multinational companies.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I was raised in Brazil, where I started my career. When I came to the USA, being away from my family, culture, and contacts were challenging. I had to start from zero ground making connections and working on projects.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist that works primarily as a motion designer, ranging from tv/broadcast/films to web content and social media. I’m mostly involved in post-production, mainly working as a compositor (Nuke/Flame artist), designer, animator, 3D, and vxf artist; I also love to cook and create music. I am proud of my kids, my food, and my art. I put all my heart and soul into my creative process.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My most significant support comes from my wife; she always believes in my work and has pushed me to follow my path and dreams. Also, my two kids are an essential source of love and creativity; I love making music, cooking, and creating with them.
