Community Highlights: Meet Erin Dill of Metilda’s Corner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Dill.

Hi Erin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Briefly stating, three years ago I was working a 9-5, commuting to and from the valley six days a week. One day while on my way to work (while sitting in traffic) out of frustration, I had a talk with God. I said, “God there has to be more to life than this, please give me direction and instruction to lead me where I need to be”. Literally one week later, I hit my head while at work. My head injury allotted me almost a year off work with pay. During this time I rested and planned. Due to my head injury while working, the insurance company handling my case offered me a settlement. I accepted the settlement and saved the money (as FU money).

I stumbled on my career (as I would say) by accident (but more so, God’s blessing). I knew I wanted to be making more money and when I thought about my options, everyone that I knew who was doing lashes was killing the game. Mind you, I have never been into the beauty field at all… but I found a lash class to enroll in, for whatever reason I did further research and found out that in California lash artists are required to be licensed estheticians. My first thought was “oh hell no, I am not going back to school”. After attaining my bachelor’s degree I promised myself that I would never return to school again (so I thought). I gave it a little more thought and researched esthetician schools. I went to visit two schools, the second school I visited, the lady mentioned that they had a new class starting the following Monday. I left the school, I turned in my resignation notice “effective immediately”. The following Monday, I was at school in esthetician class. During school, although I was there just for lashes, I ended up falling in love with facials and the beauty of skin. I started school in December 2019. I enrolled in school full time and whatever the school offered that allowed me to gain extra hours, I accepted. I was done with school in 3 months. Four days before I was done with school, they closed everything down due to COVID. They eventually went on to continue class through Zoom. Luckily for me, all my assignments and hands-on was done, all I needed were my hours. The time off during COVID allowed me extra time to study for my state board test which was also a great blessing.

Not only am I now a licensed esthetician who loves everything and all things skin, I also formulate and sell all of my all-natural, plant-based skin care products. In school is when and where I fell deeply in love with facials and skin. Who would have ever thought this to be my life? Surely not me.

In addition to being an all-natural, plant-based esthetician who formulates my products, I also have a home-based studio built in my backyard (both studio and bathroom separate from my house). Another one of God’s great blessings.

I have an extremely unique story and I am a huge believer that my life and career is only a testimony that with God all things are possible. I tell people, this is none of me and ALL of God (thank you Jesus), I am not this smart.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t consider my journey as an esthetician to be a struggle but I will say IT IS WORK. Business is not for the weak, innovation is a requirement to sustain longevity. I absolutely love everything about what I do, so much so that I do it for free. I often run “Free First Time Client” promotions. As an appreciation to this interview, I will also offer the free promo to your readers as well.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Metilda’s Corner provides skin care services specializing in all-natural and plant-based products. All products are formulated by the creator Erin Dill. I am a licensed esthetician who works from my home-based studio built in my backyard in L.A., just outside of Gardena.

What sets me apart from other estheticians is that I provide all-natural and plant-based services and products that I formulate, and use on my clients, I also sell my products as well. I am most proud of this.

I’d like to offer my “Free First Time Clients” promo to your readers. This promo allows all readers who have never received a service from me the opportunity to try my service absolutely free. The free promo is for my most popular facial, the “Ultra Hydration Facial”.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
