Today we’d like to introduce you to J-Claud.

Hi J-Claud, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Born and raised in Daytona Beach, FL. I traveled around spending time in New York, Atalanta, LA, and Vegas. I ultimately decided Los Angeles was where I wanted to live and create my music. During my travels, I created music with artists from different genres, this is sort of how my sound developed into what you hear today. Growing up, I was always writing something, from short stories to poems to music. I draw inspiration from a lot of different things. My music is a reflection of that. During COVID-19, I created and released a project called “In Plain Sight” and I think that’s when people really started taking notice of my music and what I’m bringing to the scene. I’ve recently released a few new singles and in the process of finishing the project which I’m really excited about and can’t wait to share.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve definitely had some struggles along the way. When I moved here, I was by myself. All I had was a possible job interview lined up and a few bucks in my pocket. When I got off the plane, the place where I was supposed to be staying didn’t exist lol, so I took naps on the floor at LAX. Knowing that and looking at where I am now, I’d say yea there were some struggles for sure. If you listen closely enough, you’ll hear some of them woven into my music.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
People always ask me what type of music do I do. I call it a Hip-Hop, R&B/Soul blend, but there’s bit more to it than that. I’m influenced by all types of music, so you’ll find different sounds or feels when you listen to my stuff. I think most people can tell by the content I put out, that I have a passion for words and provoking thought. I’m a writer at heart, even when I’m not writing music, I’m working on a novel I hope to one day publish.
