Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy Vidaurri.
Hi Jimmy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I had recently moved to Los Angeles not really having any connections or many friends, new city, new beginnings. Being young and single I was trying to find out where the cool spots were so I ended up at a dive bar in the valley. I met this guy at the bar who was younger than me and we just talked and talked and right there and then he asked me to go work for him, I guess he liked my way of thinking or personality or something. Point is he offered me an opportunity and without thinking I called him a week later and said that I was in. I had absolutely no idea what any of this was but I was eager to learn and become a businessman to a business I knew nothing of. For some reason, I was able to survive the real estate crash which was a shit show but survived. During the crash, I got to learn so much from investors and to how important was to just listen. One of them said something to me at that time that has stuck to me and that can be used in everything “find the need and fill it” fast forward to today, I’ve learned so much throughout the years of experience and have become a beast in negotiating but the biggest thing that I’m proud of in my business is that I have fought extremely hard for each and every client of mine from the start of the transaction all the way to the end. Building Relationships are so important to me that my clients and friends have become family.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would like to say that it was a smooth road but for me, it was a rocky road. in those moments is where I’ve learned so much and got so much value from all the rejections I received, even though at that time I didn’t see it that way. One of the things I learned was that not everyone is a good fit for me and I’m not a good fit for everyone either. The struggles of rejection after rejection has only built character but has also taught me to listen and to ask the right questions.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Vidaurri Group is a real estate firm currently running through Keller Williams. We are in the Sports + Entertainment division so we work with professional athletes and entertainers with their real estate needs globally from selling their properties and or purchasing new investments. The Vidaurri Group does NOT exclude anyone who isn’t in the entertainment division, on the contrary, they are what got us here so there’s so much love here for everyone. We treat everyone like family with lots of love and respect, we answer the phone outside business hours, we give you direct answers and not give you the run around even if we don’t end up working together. Integrity, relationships and loyalty is what we offer and we are the best at it.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
