Today we’d like to introduce you to Talulah Brown.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles. I have always had a deep passion for writing and reading, as well as fashion. I studied writing and literature in New York at Sarah Lawrence and since then have been working in wardrobe styling, and modeling founded my own brand with my cousin, Lola Dompè, and I am working on a novella and writing articles for publications. Our brand is called World Famous. My end goal is to be a novelist.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My biggest struggle has been finding a way to stay true to my passion while also supporting myself financially. I am just starting to really consider writing as a profession in a serious way. I am so inspired by my friends who have their own magazines and are getting books published, and I can’t wait to continue down my journey.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most proud of my writing that has been published in publications like Lampoon, La Catena, and Forever Magazine. I also had two books come out this year, with my friend Morgan Maher, which are a blend of photography and writing. I am now working on a novella.
I also work in fashion and have spent three years working in wardrobe styling for film, tv, and music videos. This has deeply informed my journey to start my own clothing line, World Famous, which I run with Lola Dompe. Most recently, I have been modeling.
What does success mean to you?
I think success comes easiest when you are passionate and in love with what you’re doing. For me, it is almost impossible to do things in life which don’t feel completely genuine or fulfilling. I think it’s true in relationships, friendships, creative work, business, and family. Success should be filled with joy and it is my belief the material aspects will come naturally.
