Community Highlights: Meet Lexus Lawson owner of Mahogany Yoga LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexus Lawson.

Hi Lexus, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello Everyone! My name is Lexus owner of Mahogany Yoga (Lexus Lawson owner of Mahogany Yoga LLC). I come from a background of fashion corporate and although it’s part of my passion, I always wanted to work for myself and offer a service that contributes to one’s health mentally and physically. I always knew companies only cared about money and not so much of the employees that work hard to contribute to the growth of companies but COVID really opened my eyes. Therefore, I completed my certification in Yoga and haven’t looked back since. I’ve been meeting and training people who have the same mission… to heal mentally, physically, and spiritually. It’s hard work to own a business but the rewarding feeling I get when a client tells me “I truly needed this, thank you” or “that wasn’t what I expected, I really enjoyed this, thank you so much” is enough for me to keep showing up for others and myself. I’m truly operating in my purpose and so thankful for all the opportunities that has come along the way.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been a smooth road with the gaining clientele but it can be difficult when it comes to finding space to teach group classes. This has transitioned me into teaching virtual classes and my clients receive the same experience as in-person sessions!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Mahogany Yoga owned by Lexus Lawson focuses on connecting the breathe with movement by providing beginner-friendly stretching sequences with guided meditation. I teach cardio yoga, vinyasa, sun salutations, moon salutations and guided meditation to clear any blockages within the chakras of the body. I provide different breathing techniques to tap into one’s DMT, chakra healing, and meditation to release stress/anxiety.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Yes! I studied and received my RYT-250 with an online yoga school due to COVID and working on furthering my education in yoga as I’m always a student to my craft. I attend other yoga classes in the nearby area as well and follow other great yoga instructors on social media to connect and develop a community. I read lots of anatomy books, documentaries on gurus, history of yoga and lots of other resources to help increase my motivation and skills to provide the best services to my clients.
