Conversations with Abraham Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abraham Lopez.

Hi Abraham, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was growing up, my older sisters were involved in acting and I wanted to be an actor as well. My godmother who worked in the entertainment industry as a producer at the time encouraged me to pursue it, but I got distracted from this for a while by playing sports in school. I got injured my senior year of high school which ended my sports career and I became interested again in working in the entertainment industry, but this time as a producer and director. I studied business and producing in college which then led me to start my own company. I did multiple short films and comedy sketches and eventually created my own series Pathways which I completed. From there, I created 6 proof of concepts: The Betrayal, Life Like This, ED: A Love Story, Hidden Lives, Love Ways, and A Knock. I have won multiple awards for these POC’s and this year I will be developing a few of them into feature films and continuing to expand my company.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. There were several hardships I had to go through to reach where I am today such as coming up with the finances to develop these projects and to purchase the necessary equipment as well as finding a trustworthy team which is a lot more difficult than you might think. After some years of ups and downs we’ve finally got the hang of it and are now moving forward. We are ready for whatever challenges may be thrown at us next!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
First and foremost, I am a business owner. I own a motion picture production company called A Greek God Entertainment. I am also a writer, producer, director, and cinematographer and I am known for creating award-winning short films. I am proud of the accomplishments I have received from these films. What sets me apart from others is that I never give up and I persevere through rain and shine. I have a vision for my company and for my films and I am determined to achieve that vision.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as setting goals in your life whether they are big or small, staying focused and consistent, and doing everything you can to accomplish those goals no matter what.
