Meet Anais & Scott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anais & Scott.

Hi Anais & Scott, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We went to a lot of electronic music shows together and eventually, we started experimenting with sound around 2016. We found that we worked really well together, and that’s how tau0n was formed. Our first release ‘Forget Tomorrow,’ a collaboration with Sacha Robotti on his record company, SlothAcid, came out in 2019.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall it’s been a smooth road! We’ve known each other for 15 years and it was a natural progression. Through our time making music together, we’ve gotten better at working more seamlessly and understanding how we can communicate better as the years have gone by.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We make electronic music. Usually, we dj, however we like to incorporate live elements into our sets. Anais will sing, Scott will play guitar, and both of us will play various keys or synths. We’re really proud of our most recent release, ‘Waking Dreams,’ with Eric Sharp on Do not Duplicate records. We’re also really excited about our next release on SlothAcid’s end-of-year complication, it’s a remix of our song with Sacha Robotti, ‘Forget Tomorrow.’

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Both of us were kind of weird hahaha.

Both of us have always been into fantasy, starting with stories like Harry Potter and Lord of the rings. Also Sci-fi! Reading similar books like “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.”

Scott was a loud and rambunctious kid, always trying to make jokes – not a lot has changed.

Anais was a shy kid, but when she was with people she was comfortable with, she was silly and adventurous.

We both grew up playing and writing music. Scott’s interest in electronic music started as a teen, and Anais got into it in college.
