Today we’d like to introduce you to Magaly Rodriguez.
Hi Magaly, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Magaly Rodriguez, I’m from Chicago, IL, and 2021 in March, I started posting videos of behind the scenes of being a Medical Assistant on TikTok from my job. After posting my 3rd video on TikTok it went viral, and it got over 4M views and over 1M likes. After reaching 50K followers, I knew I had to do something with my account if I wanted to continue and grow. I kept doing content and eventually moved to Los Angeles, CA to pressure a new career for Digital Marketing after my passion for social media started to growing. I moved to LA 2021 in Oct to pressure a new carrier as a digital marketer. My plan after moving to LA was to take classes to become a full-time Digital Marketer. I was still posting videos on TikTok and just having fun with it until one of my videos went crazy viral “Amanda Baila Con La Banda.” Everyone started liking my Amanda videos and started challenging me do my dance in different places In LA included different states and countries! A lot of opportunities started to open for me, and started getting supper busy while still having my job as a medical assistant. It was starting get instance for me because it felt like I was having two jobs. Few months passed by, and I had to make a final decision if I wanted to quit my job and become a full-time content creator because of all the opportunities I was getting from so many big brands to work with them. It took me 2 months to make a decision if I wanted to continue being an M.A, go to school for Digital Marketing or become a content creator/influencer. So, I decided to become a full-time content creator.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everything been going great for me, but I’m still getting used to this new lifestyle of mine because I was so used having a job from 9-5 to now working from home and learning how to manage my time. Overall, everything being great, and I’m still learning and growing has an influencer.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a content creator/influencer. I do content on TikTok and Instagram and now on YouTube. I am known after going viral with a dance known for “Amanda Baila Con La Banda” on TikTok and Instagram. I’m just happy to share my Latin music to my platforms and represent all my Latin people.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I always get asked why I moved to LA if I don’t have any family or friends here. The reason why I moved here was because I wanted to experience something new and just meet new people and start a new chapter in my life. Don’t ever hesitate if you have a goal or you want to experience something new because tomorrow is not promise, and life is just about living out best life.
