Hi Saucy Mike, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started making music in 2018. I have always been fascinated by everything about music, like the graphic designing end, production, engineering, performing, etc. But the reason I started was actually because I felt bored with what I was listening to at the time, so I figured I’d try to make my own stuff. From there, I used my love for journalism and marketing to create a music collective/ community with over 12K followers on TikTok called Saucy Entertainment. We give tips and chances to upcoming artists from everywhere so that they can be the best artists they can be, and we also give them a platform. The collective side of it, it is filled with artists and producers from around the world and we all work together to make it. I have formed amazing relationships with these people who I now consider my closest friends. So with managing a collective and also managing my own artist profile, I have a lot of fun doing it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been smooth. My town is not very supportive for the most part for local artists and ever since I started making music I’ve faced hate throughout high school, even from people I didn’t even know. There were lots of times I felt I couldn’t be myself and wanted to give up, but as I matured and really understood the love I had for what I do, I didn’t let it bother me anymore.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make music and I am also an owner of a music collective. I feel I specialize in marketing. I am very driven and motivated when it comes to that and I also feel I am a very marketable person with my sound and image. I’m most proud of building a nice following/ fanbase that I worked hard to build and also forming a trustworthy group behind me. What sets me apart from others is my drive.
