Meet Mike Sincere

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Sincere.

Mike, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started as a DJ when I was 15. My Uncle Benny Blanco was working at Interscope Records at the time and he signed me up for a class at Scratch DJ Academy. He wanted me to learn about one of the most important elements of Hip Hop, the art of Djing. My instructors at the time were DJ Hapa and Mr. Choc of The Beat Junkies.

After learning the fundamentals and basic scratch techniques, I decided to give this DJ life a spin. I purchased my first pair of technics turntables and my uncle gave me a bunch of promo records from his work. I practiced after school every chance I got and sometimes even before class.

When I graduated High School, I decided to start doing DJ gigs. My first one ever was an open mic poetry night called “We The People”. From there it evolved into house parties and nightclubs.

At 19, I was picked up by Scratch Music Group to be a part of their roster. They found me on a craigslist ad and decided I was a perfect fit for their DJ agency. They started booking me to play for a lot of big corporate parties, private events and in-store gigs.

That’s when my career started to take off and I decided to go full-time with it. Around the same time, Adidas called me to DJ a Commercial shoot for them. They had celebrities like Missy Elliot, Katy Perry, David Beckham, Russell Simmons, Kevin Garnett, DMC from the group Run DMC. Method Man and Redman. I got to play for them and it really motivated me to take my DJ career to new heights.

I started to book weddings, celebrity parties, exclusive nightclubs, fashion shows and music video shoots. I was hired to be the Celebrity Guest DJ for Disney, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Last summer I got to go on tour across the country as the DJ for the Premier Lacrosse League. Around the same time, I started djing for concerts for Latin Superstars like Elvis Crespo, Ivy Queen and Sonora Dinamita,

Fast forward to today. I DJed for MLB All Star Week in Los Angeles. I am the first In-game DJ for the NBA G-League South Bay Lakers. Currently the DJ for LMU Men’s & Women’s Basketball Team. My girlfriend DJ Jezzy B and I are the Resident DJs at the largest Vegan Festival in the world, Vegan Street Fair. Our DJ Duo is called Plant-based Amor. This year we also got to play at Expo West, Star Wars Celebration and Anime Expo.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

I used to live too lavishly and spending way more than what I had. I was relying on only djing for my main income.

I now learned you need multiple streams of income and should live below your means.
My side hustle game is so strong now because of what I went through.

Never get complacent, keep networking, building your brand and always strive for more out of life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in elevating vibes by using my skills as a DJ & MC. I’m known to rock upscale weddings, nightclubs, corporate events, food festivals, expos, fashion shows, release parties, sporting events and concerts.

A proud moment for me was being hired to DJ for some of my favorite celebrities and their families. Also got to DJ at Gillette Stadium last year. I grew up watching Tom Brady & the Patriots win so many championships there, so that was pretty unreal for me.

What sets me apart from others is that I treat everyone with love and respect. No matter their status or where they come from. I’m always smiling and having a good time behind that DJ booth no matter if I’m playing for 10 people or 10,000.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We can collaborate via social media. My Tiktok and Instagram are @djmikesincere

You can also support me by coming to my events and showing love.

My girlfriend and I also blog about plant-based food and our vegan lifestyle on @plantbasedamor
