Meet Jack Mierop of Jack Up Your Life in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Mierop.

Jack, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After ten years as an educator at the university level, teaching Human Communication Studies (Interpersonal Communication mostly), many of my students benefited from the lessons and the message of understanding themselves and their relationships, I decided to reach a broader audience with the information of personal understanding and personal peace. Inspired by my students, I embarked on writing the personal growth narrative entitled “Becoming . . .” published in 2013.

The founder of Jack Up Your Life in 2009, I continue to teach (22 years now), am a Life Coach, Author of “Becoming . . .”, an Ordained Minister (for weddings and such) a Motivational Speaker, and an Event Coordinator. The goal of my coaching, teaching, speaking, and writing is for more people to understand the control and choice they have over their lives, leading to a deeper level of personal understanding and peace. I also help people build the confidence they need to be more successful in life and believe more deeply in themselves.

To this day, I continue teaching at the university, see Life Coaching clients in my home office, perform an occasional wedding and have various speaking engagements. In fact, I even provide a venue for events as an event coordinator.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Luckily for me, while the business was in its formative stages, I maintained a job at a university and a community college, which is my major source of income. Struggles seemed minor as I was not suffering monetarily. My biggest obstacle is promoting my book. The people who have read it indicated that it had a major impact on their lives and they are forever grateful. The goal now is to reach a far broader audience with the book and its message.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jack Up Your Life story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in coaching people in understanding their relationships and provide guidance for making the best choices for their lives and happiness.

As a side note, I rent out my beautiful, Long Beach home and yard for small events such as weddings, showers, receptions and get-togethers.

I’m best known for my understanding and knowledge about human behavior.

I’m most proud of being able to help others with their life choices and understanding.

My personality sets me apart from others as I am very approachable, genuine, and people feel calm and at home when we speak.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in hard work and making adjustments to the market, people’s needs, and following through with a plan of action.

Pricing:

• Weddings start at $500.00 and include an initial consultation meeting, revising the program and vous, rehearsal and the ceremony.
• Life Coaching sessions are 50 minutes in length and are in the range of $150.00, but I will consider circumstances when pricing.
