Today we’d like to introduce you to Peoneemoull Pech.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. As a kid I was always creative, trying to find ways to express my vision through art and bring it to life. That could be from drawing, writing, taking photos, etc. During high school, I found my love of photography: taking pictures of nature and my family/friends. Over the years I developed a passion for art and decided to travel and work with models from Paris, NYC, & LA to name a few and working for publications. I’ve also met amazing individuals along the way, that had pushed me to become to be greater, and that’s not only as an artist. I took a risk and did everything full-time, right after high school. This was my main plan and I didn’t have any other backups. I did that since it’s the only thing I think I could be good in, at that time. So I gave it my all. Now to be able to be in front of the camera as a model and an actor today, I can humbly say I’ve made it. Making it to be able to do what I love. A lot of things have been happening and I’m super stoked to show what I’ve been working on. I wouldn’t be able to be here without getting out of my comfort zone, taking risks, and being consistent. Why fail at something you don’t like when you can fail at something you love? It would be a great feeling to look back and be able to say “I least I tried!” I take everything as a lesson and applied that for the future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been an easy road. And I think a lot of artists would say the same. When I first started off, I’ve struggled financially, especially when photography was my only source of income. As time go by, you learn to be smarter with how you work your business. There are times when there are sleepless nights and work overload. It’s not easy when you are managing everything yourself: doing things like photography for clients, acting, and modeling. It’s definitely something I’ve learned to adjust along the way. I’ve always felt not enough when there was a rejection and had a lot of doubts about myself but I kept going. As a kid, my teacher had always told me to be unstoppable. The next thing was sacrificing. I had to stick to a schedule and couldn’t really make time for family/friends. This was when I knew to take work, live, and balance more serous. It was the love and passion that kept me going. I enjoy the journey. Another struggle I’ve dealt with was not feeling like no one understand what I was doing or supported my work. I feel we humans can be our worst critic. Doing what I do for some time now, I’ve realized my worth and am very happy about what I’m creating. Also, people get inspired by you and that’s the best feeling. I feel like we had made an impact to the world. Right there… another human being willing to go out to chase their dreams because of you.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a model, actor, & photographer. As a creative, I tend to get inspired by my surroundings/people. I got to be in a few appearances as a lead. One memorable moment was being in a music video with FEID as the Mafia. One of our projects got to be shown in front of over 10,000 people in Colombia.
I’m proud that I’ve gotten out of my comfort zone because without it, you’ll never know what you’re capable of. This lead me to be part of opportunities that I never that would happen or even so soon. Also, this is another reason taking risks is important. All we need to do is push ourselves for the better! Networking and collaboration will be the key to your success. You never know what opportunities lie ahead. I am proud of my friends who are also artists, models, actors, entrepreneurs, etc because the journey is not easy and they keep me going. They inspire me.
What were you like growing up?
As a young child, I was quiet and to myself and only had a few friends. I’ve always been family-oriented and being around people I love. My parents always encouraged me to be more open and make friends but I couldn’t because I was very shy, maybe that’s why I always felt left out/different. I was always interested in anything creative and that kind of led me to be more social with people and get comfortable with expressing myself. It honestly changed me for the better because it wouldn’t have opened the side of me that I thought I had. I felt more outgoing, want to have fun/play, and be around people. As I gotten older, Networking and photographing people when I started off took me out of my bubble! It’s funny to see how different I am now compare to how I was before younger. Knowing how I grew up pushes me to inspire people, especially my family.
