Rising Stars: Meet Krystle Comer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystle Comer.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My LA story is similar to many people’s. I can remember my soul being drawn to this city from when I was a child. The day after I graduated college, I was on the first plane over here to live check to check waiting tables. I started auditioning and booking minor roles in commercials and TV and film. I also write for TV and have been placed in several contests.

I’m a hard-working mom who somehow finds time to make her baby organic vegan food and work. I never make excuses when it comes to my child. As a realtor I’ve learned to pivot and take business meetings with Sesame street, sometimes playing in the background because I can’t find a sitter. I take my child with me to show houses when I have to. I’ve learned to believe in myself because I can make anything happen. Being a working mom has humbled me and taught me that sleep isn’t everything… especially when you’re chasing a dream and trying to provide for someone else.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The path towards your dream is never as you predicted. There are always bumps in the road, and I try to use them to learn. Being a woman of color in the business is hard, and you have to work twice as hard, but I am always open to a challenge.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a comedy writer. I started in improv and doing stand-up, and I’m now breaking into TV and FIlm. I’m proud that I’m no longer afraid to tell my story.

I’m also a realtor, and I love to help my friends and family purchase and sell real estate. I have a lot of experience and knowledge of real estate, and I have a passion for helping people find their dream; whether it is selling and moving to the south of France or finally getting that Single-family home in LA; I can help.
