Check Out Carly Blumberg’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carly Blumberg.

Carly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started off as a textile designer working for J.Crew and then got into home product design working for Anthropoligie. In 2014 Anthro launched my first brand, Camp Home. It was a collection of 30+ pieces from ceramic baking goods to bedding. In 2014 I moved from NY (where I was born and raised) to LA. It was during this time that I started a design consulting business while simultaneously building my brand, Carly Home.

I am now based in Ojai California where I create colorful and whimsical products for the home. My original textile and product designs combine timeless old-world elegance with a crisp palette of unexpected color combinations.

I focus on limited production runs, adding new and exciting products as they are created.

Our wallpaper, textiles, pillows and ceramics are produced domestically with the exception of our block printed textiles which are created in India, a place near and dear to my heart as I spent several years designing furniture for a manufacturer based in Jaipur (my home away from home)

The Carly Home Atelier is now open by appointment in Ojai, CA. It is my flagship workspace filled with pillows, found objects, antiques, ceramics, etc.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been smooth but the ups have made it interesting and all the more rewarding! There have been and still are many challenges. Some of them are business-related, and others are just self-doubt. Those things are a given in business but then I also had some health issues which thankfully I am on the other side of.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a product designer specializing in textiles, wallpaper and items for the home. I am most likely known for my colorful floral wallpapers and linen scalloped pillows. I am most proud of staying true to the aesthetic that I am building which is unique to Carly Home. An elegant timeless aesthetic with a colorful artistic twist. It’s never too serious and always very inviting.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Authenticity.
