Meet Breanna Garibay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Garibay.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Makeup & business has always been my passion. I knew at a very young age what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I began Freelancing doing makeup as soon as I got out of high school. It was a side gig while I was in college & working. I of course wanted to make my parents proud being the first to go to college in my family although to stay in school I knew Was not where my heart was. I started to establish myself as a freelance makeup artist. Through the years of working on different influencers doing soft glams, I collaborated with many different artists & styles until I finally found my signature. I took my art to socials. I started posting everything I did On TikTok. Videos like makeup hauls, day in my life as a freelance artist, & what’s in my makeup kit. Overnight I was Viral. It took many years to get to the position I am today, although if it wasn’t for being recommended around Hollywood & downtown LA. I don’t know what I would have done to get here. I am forever grateful for the loyal clients & supporters. They seriously changed my life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel like there’s always a challenge with anything you love. If you’re not constantly trying to get better with a skill or perfecting a technique, it’s not something you love.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a freelance makeup artist, I do consider myself a creator/ artist although I turned my art into a business. Along with creating content on TikTok & all social channels, I own my cosmetics business Hernamestudios. I started This business not even a year ago & the amount of support for the brand has been amazing. I am now known online for my life as a freelance makeup artist in Los Angeles as well as beauty guru on YouTube & TikTok. I am extremely proud of myself for pushing through the last five years to get out of my room & do makeup on others. It will be six years this fall as a self-taught makeup artist growing an influencer-based clientele in Los Angeles.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk taking is HUGE! If I didn’t take any risks, there would absolutely be no breesglam. It’s a feeling inside where you just know you have to do it or nobody else will. I went through many risks as an upcoming artist. One of the biggest opportunities I took Was leaving my 9-5 to pursue being a creator on TikTok. With little to no savings, I knew That working in the service industry didn’t match my vibe. With 0 followers on TikTok, I began Creating while still taking clients in LA. It was extremely hard to balance creating content & still traveling all over the city assisting wonderland magazine and glamming every opportunity I had. I knew that that’s what it was going to take to learn the industry & get paid any chance I got.
