Today we’d like to introduce you to Axcely Cruz-Arce.
Hi Axcely, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I like to consider Saintscustimdesigns a family business. I am a Mexicana and my partner is a Filipino. We have a wonderful son who motivated me to open up our business in the summer of 2020. I decided to get into the business lifestyle because I am a stay-at-home mom and I wanted to keep myself busy from being home all the time. So I learned a new hobby and turned it into a business. At first, I started off by posting products on my page to see if people would like or comment on my handmade products. Surprisingly they did and that only boosted my motivation even more. The fact that there is people on social media who will buy my products and support me made me so happy. My major platform is Tiktok I have 3k followers and I am currently on a journey to reach 10k. The reason I consider this a family business is because my partner helps me with big company orders. Even though he says it himself, it’s my business. Ever since we opened up our business, we have gotten so much support. At first, I was double thinking about opening my business because I am a mom and I thought it would be challenging but I am so glad I followed through my goals. I am currently in the process of opening up my second business. I want to thank God, my family, my sister for getting me this interview and my number one supporter Jeremy Gandoza.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say the struggles are weeding small designs or when they don’t have in stock the item you need.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a full-time mom to a handsome, healthy three-year-old. When I am not working on my business, I am busy playing dinosaurs with my son. Since covid, he hasn’t had the chance to join a daycare so I have had the opportunity to teach him from home. I am truly blessed for my support system.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
To never be afraid to follow your dreams. Invest in yourself and always stay positive. If you’re a parent and want to open up a business do it!!
