Community Highlights: Meet Crystal Vaughn of Newhall Manison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Vaughn.

Hi Crystal, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The Newhall Mansion was built in 1890 by publisher David C. Cook. It was then purchased by the Warring Family who occupied it for 56 years, and finally by Scott & Ruth Newhall who rebuilt the Mansion to its original specifications in 1983 after a devastating fire caused by a painters blow torch. More recently, over the last decade, it has been a popular venue for Weddings, films, TV shows, corporate retreats and luxury getaways.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think covid created many challenges for everyone, especially the event industry. We are just elated to be back in full swing this year, helping our guests create their perfect day!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Newhall Mansion is a large victorian style house set back in the hills of Piru, Ca. It has eight bedrooms and sleeps up to 20 overnight guests. We operate as a vacation rental that transforms into your event space for your special day. The grounds surrounding the Mansion are lush and offer a gorgeous heated pool, large front lawn with a beautiful fountain that serves as a perfect cocktail hour. The courtyard is perfect for receptions and lots of dancing. Last but not least our green grassy meadow surrounded by white rose bushes and palm trees as well as other lush foliage with mountain view backdrops, serves as our ceremony site with multiple options for the perfect background for your ceremony.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Well, I don’t want to sound like one of those cheesy infomercials, but I felt I should add that I am getting married in 2022. I looked at other venues but after searching, I always compared everywhere else to the Mansion, and nothing even came close. I was told multiple times that I would not want to get married where I work. Honestly though, I can’t imagine it anywhere else. I love my career and I cant wait to make some amazing memories at the Mansion with my friends and family this coming year.
